Static Mixing Tip (Nozzle):
This is a crucial, disposable component.
It's a long, slender plastic tube containing a series of internal helical (spiral) elements.
When the two resin components are forced from their respective chambers in the cartridge into this mixing tip, they flow over and around these static elements.
The design of these elements causes the two parts to be repeatedly divided and recombined, creating a thorough and homogeneous mix without any moving parts within the tip itself. This ensures the chemical reaction begins consistently.
Mixing tips come in various lengths and numbers of mixing elements; longer tips with more elements provide more thorough mixing, which is important for resins with very different viscosities or precise ratios.
